Utah Homeschoolers: Get Involved
Homeschool families have an opportunity right now to introduce themselves to their legislators, build relationships, and help lawmakers understand the families they represent.
You don't need to be a policy expert or speak for every homeschooler. Be respectful, be yourself, share your family's experience, ask good questions, and listen.

4. Help UHOPE Connect Across Utah
We need connections with homeschool families in every part of Utah—especially areas where UHOPE doesn't already have strong local connections.
You don't have to lead an entire county. Sometimes introducing us to the right homeschool family or leader is exactly what we need.

5. Stay Connected
This effort will continue over the coming weeks. Stay connected for additional resources, Interim information, and opportunities to participate.
Saturday, September 26 at 8:00 AM MT — Learn How to Talk With Your Legislators
National conversations about whether homeschool students should face testing or other accountability requirements—particularly as education-choice programs expand—prompted this meeting. Join UHOPE for a short Zoom conversation about homeschool policy, current concerns, and how families can communicate effectively with their elected officials. We’ll walk through how to find and contact your legislators, request a meeting, share your family’s homeschool experience, and highlight what your children are learning, creating, and accomplishing.
The goal is simple: help legislators better understand the real families, students, and educational successes behind homeschooling in Utah.
